It’s official. Years of being an SLR guy are over. I am now on the Canon Mirrorless system.

As for what I switched to? The Canon R5 full frame is the main camera and an Canon R7 crop sensor camera fills in when I can’t get the reach I want with the R5. I’m using a handful of L-series lenses, the RF100-500, RF24-70 F4, RF70-200 F2.8 and keep the RF1.4x and RF2x extenders in my bag when I need a little more reach.

I kept my strobe and EX series flashes and added a grip to the R5. Overall my kit is much smaller now.

Why did I finally make the switch? AI autofocus of course. Birding gamechanger.
